Recorded Tour of the National Museum Ibadan with the Curator

The then Head of State RTD Jemibewon, made a public pronouncement that a museum of unity should be established in each state capital of the federation. The intention then, as it is presently, is for the museum to use its objects to foster unity among the diverse cultural groups in the country.

About the Event

As a Museum of Unity, its exhibited objects present aspects of the socio-religious life of diverse groups in the country and the unity of Nigerians in music and dance. Examples from all parts of the country are duly represented in the four groups of musical instruments namely: - Aerophones (wind instruments), Chordophones (String instruments), Idiophones (self-sounding instruments), and Membranophones (instruments with vibrating membrane).
